I redid the deck and engine mounts (inline 4) in my 1969 17.5 I/O and when I reinstalled the motor I just used some rubber conveyor belting as a vibration isolator between the metal engine mount brackets and the wood/glass deck. I'd like something maybe a little less dense so it won't transmit the engine vibrations to the deck as much. What have you used for this application?

Re: Engine mount material

Standard conveyor belt has a relatively hard durometer rating and unless special application belt of neoprene or similar compound would have very little oil resistance. Thus said, why not check out standard engine mounts like you would use in your car.

Good luck in your quest ya'll
