Engine mounts

I have a 1984 omc stern drive 5.7 motor and I noticed it has hydraulic struts in the front of the motor that lift and raise it with a button. What is the purpose for this?

Looks like you had leaky exhaust manifolds, does the engine spin over?

Ya that's what Iam dealing with the motor is seized
