Engine Oil additive

Looked around and saw nothing relating to this subject before I posted.
Just wondering if there is an oil additive that will help an old ailing engine.
One mechanic told me a product called "Engine Restorer" will build back some lost compression.

I have some "Blow By" in the engine and leak a couple of shot glasses full for every 2 hrs running.

Just curious if there is such an additive that will "assist" the ol girl.

Thanks in advance for any info....

Snake oil

You need a rebuild, and don't go to the mechanic that suggested "Engine Restorer".
There is no such thing as rebuild in a can.

Snake Oil??...is that a Quaker State Product??....LOL

Yes, I figured as such...just curious if something came along that I wasn't aware of...back in the day we used power steering fluid in the old automotive engines to swell the seals............wether that did any good to prolong an obvious condition I'll never know........

Re: Engine Oil additive

You need a rebuild or new engine -- but in the meantime, the STP oil treatment or Lucas oil treatment will thicken up the oil and help a little with the blow by. At least it did in my old Mazda 929. I liked the Lucas better, but the STP is 1/3rd the cost. Both are thick like a brick -- take a long time to poor in.

No cure, just a little internal engine support.

Go ahead and blast away at me for this suggestion.:D
