Today I was trailering the boat and left the engine idle for maybe 10 to 15 seconds. Did I damage anything or will it be okay?

Cant say whether you have or have not. But 10-15 seconds is a very short time and I certainly have done the same and its been ok. So all may not be lost.

You should be fine. Unless it was longer than you said, maybe 1 minute or so?

Put it this way. If you damaged it you'll either find out next time you go out and cook your motor, or if you rebuild it first. If it's still good, it never hurts to have a spare aboard.

Raw water intake impellor, this is on the outdrive, cheap part that supplies your motor with water. They are rubber in a metal housing. They wear out and get brittle with age. Always recommended to be replaced every two to three years (max). When you run it dry, it can cook, crack, fatigue in a hurry! Replace it now and have a spare handy, cheaper than a tow. Get a manual and DIY. It is an easy repair, but make sure you put it in correctly and reseal with new gaskets, rings etc. Should come in kit form with what you need or order seperatly. Also, grease it with some lubricant when you put it in. This helps it seat. The 10 seconds might not have trashed it, but it seems that this part might not have been replaced recently. The water pump impellor (up on the motor) should be okay but you didn't do it any favors. Keep an eye on the temp gauge. If it's running high, especially at low speed or no wake speed, this may be an indication that this one needs attention too.

The only thing worse than running a motor dry is doing so with an old brittle impellor. If it did bust appart or lose some of the tips you need to get them out, they will migrate to another part of the system and may cause problems, blockage etc.
