If you can touch the elbow without getting a burned then your probably OK. One side of the elbows will get hotter then the other, just the nature of the water flow. If your timing is off, this can increase heat but not enough to notice in the exhaust. Timing not being set correctly will damage the engine over time. Get an Infrared temp gauge and take some readings to verify
Yes they get HOT you can't hold on to them. The exhaust and elbows, raw water pump and circulation pump are brand new. I checked every part of the water circulation and it's got water flow. Can timing cause this? I hooked a water hose directly to the exhaust manifold hose and the the one side ran cool.
