Engine serial numbers

I found 2 different serial numbers on my omc 4.3 and am trying to figure out if the engine was replaced.It was on the thermostat housing.A new sticker was put over the original one.<br />Serial number on newer sticker was T0480734 and the old one was T0940956..<br />Does anyone have a way to look these up.I was trying to find out what the actual year and horsepower of the engine..<br />If anyone can help i will be grateful! Thanks
