Engine stalled , cranks fine , won’t start !

Hey everyone!
New here...
Here’s my problem
Twin 2008 mercruiser 350 5.7 mag mpi engines
sn 1a07... cool fuel Gen 3 , bravo 3 drives, seacore package .
I ran the boat all day with no issues , coming home put the boat up on plane for maybe 2 minutes , down throttled and
the starboard engine stalled . Have not been able to restart since..
no alarms , I have the Merc monitor mobile and no codes registered .
I swapped the coil with the port engine , no start...
changed fuel filter and bottom filter ....
no start ... Fuel pump runs for a couple seconds with key on
What should I look for next ?

Thanks for the partial s/n, but the full one is better. No one can use it other then to look up your motor

Check for 12V on the Pink/White wire at the coil

The distributor cap is known to cause misfires and just stop working and look fine. Always good to replace the cap and rotor and even if it doesn't fix the problem, keep it in the tool box. The cap can fail without warning

When starting does the tachometer show at least 300 rpm?

Chech the fuse in the starter with key in on position and a test light.

couldn’t remember last night ....
If the fuse for the starter was bad , wouldn’t that cause the starter not to crank?
I noticed fuel was leaking out of the top of the cool fuel module after I try cranking 4 or 5 times ...
could to high of pressure in the module cause the leak ?

Yes

The LP pump draws the fuel in and pressurizes the unit around 8 psi. With the module leaking then it needs a new seal, or the seal area has been damaged.

The regulator controls pressure to the rail. Check to see what pressure you have at the rail

Looks like the seating area for the o-ring for the fuel filter module is damaged from salt water , precious owner had a leaking sea pump they left to long , will buy a new cool fuel housing or a whole unit , depending on the no start issue ...
I‘ll put a fuel pressure gage on the rail and see what I get .

changed the distributor cap with an NAPA gold and it fired up right away up!
unbelievable that the cap can fail totally !
iIll get a couple extra to keep on hand !
