engine stalls when I hit trim

I have a 94 OMC on my Horizon 190. On the trailer the trim up and down sounds weak and the lower unit is slow to react to either. On the water, when at speed, the engine goes off and all the dash readings go off....when I hit the trim to raise or lower it.
Ideas? I also noticed last night on the water that the positive terminal on the battery was warm to hot on touch....and the red boot cover for the terminal appeared slightly melted.

thanks
John

Ayuh,... Your wiring is Corroded....

Remove, sand, clean,+ reinstall ALL of the battery wiring,...
Both ends of All the wires....

I cleaned the wire at the battery post. It had slight corrosion. I check the battery. It showed 3 of five balls floating indicating 3/4 charge. Shouldn't it be a full charge after running for 30 minutes on the lake? I had a new alternator put in two years ago.
still no clue on the trim issue...so if you guys can help...thanks

Re: engine stalls when I hit trim

put battery on charger, recheck ALL connections, both positive and negative. may want to have battery tested. as far as i know, the trim pump draws power straight off the battery. if the alternator is not working, everything will run solely off battery, meaning that when you hit trim switch, it's too much power draw for a non-charging battery, consequently shutting down everything else that draws less power. again, check every connection, at battery, all grounds, engine plug, at trim pump, starter, slave solenoid. if you can, start motor and run, while checking voltage at battery, it should be at the very minimum 13 volts, tho 13.5-14 is what you want. if voltage is lower, have battery, alternator, voltage regulator (if equipped) checked.
