engine stutters

hey i took my mercruiser 4cyl with an alpha one drive.. out the other day and i noticed when you give it some throttle to full speed it stops in between for a second and then kicks in... itll increase speed... stop and then go again... idk any suggestions?

There is a good chance it is the accelerator pump on the carburetor
