Engine swap 1989 150 to a 1988 125

I have a 1989 cobra bass boat with a bad powerhead on a 150 0utboard.i want to swap a 1988 125 motor,both are force outboards.will the cables and wiring the same.im hoping for an easy swap.im no electrician and any help and advice will be greatly appreciated.thanks

If the shaft length is the same it's gonna be easy.Measure them and post them.
Any pics of the transom mount?J

im swapping the whole motor,not just the powerhead.the measurement from top of transom to bottom of lower unit was aprox. 30 1nches on both motors.i was told the 150 was just a 125 with an added cylinder,but not sure.can post pictures tommorro.im a single dad and just trying to save a few dollars by doing the work myself.thanks for the input.
