you can use the short-block and heads from the S-10 (not a complete motor)

you will need marine head gaskets and brass core plugs

all other things bolted to the motor must be marine.

this includes:
water circulating pump
all rotating electrics (starter, alternator)
intake manifold and carb
front brackets, pulleys, accessories
fuel system
ignition system
oil pan

if the S-10 had a manual trans, you can use the flywheel, if not, you need to swap over that too.

highly recommended to replace the coupler if the motor is out.

i suggest new manifolds and elbows.

It should work, you in salt or fresh water, and open or closed cooling ?

If the boat's in salt, I'd replace the Y-pipe while the engine is out, too. At 20 years it's living on borrowed time.
