I have a 4.3L V6 volvo penta carberated with gm block that has a crack in it. Can I use a block from a 4.3L chevy blazer or gmc jimmy? Too many people have given me advice that think that they are machanics. I figure I would leave it to the pros. Thank you for any advice that you may have.

thanks bond-o for the info. The only thing I wonder, is the cooling ports in the blocks the same? Marine vs. Auto? Thanks again

Re: engine swap out

the water galleys are the same At least on Merc260/chevy 350 v8.
Just buy a short block same year, and transfer all your "marine" parts over to your new block, and make sure you get brass freeze Plugs NOT steel or they will rust out rather quickly. I pick up my long block on the 15th of this month. I may start a thread of the dissassembly and installation of the new motor:cool:
