Engine turns over, but won't start during first series of attempts

I have a Cobalt with a Volvo Penta 5.7GXI-G. Has been working great for years without problems, but recently have had issues where it will crank/turn over fine, but does not start -- but it seems like if I then let it sit for a little while (30-45 mins) and try it again, it starts right up and runs fine. This has happened the past 3 days where it will not start during first attempts.

I have 2 brand new batteries, new distributor cap & coil (all replaced since problems noticed). Have had a diag computer hooked up & sensors looked OK and no error codes (also replaced the 50A maxi circuit-breaker fuse which seemed to be flaky).

Any ideas on what to try?

When its cranking do you see the tach move up around 300 rpms?

If fuel pressure is around 60 psi then need a noid light to see if the injectors are firing

Thanks...if pressure low, is that likely a fuel pump issue?

Depending on how low then yes, just trying to figure out what your not getting. It could be spark but with the tach moving up this tells me most times that spark is there. Fuel may be there also, maybe its just not getting the signal to fire the injectors. Don't know right now just trying to isolate the issue
