I have a 2005 Kayot with a 5.7 volvo penta inboard. 110 total hrs. Always kept dry storage and premium gas. Always ran and idle perfect. After letting kids swim would not fire up just would not start. Turned over just no start. Once back at marina next day still no start. Marina supervisor put a touch of starting fluid and fired right up again ran perfect idle perfect but once cut off would not restart ! Was told a check valve could be worn ? Any help would be appreciated !!
Thx
David

It ran until it burned the starter fluid off... so you have spark. Sounds like it is a fuel issue. Injected or carb?

To clarify once running will run and idle perfect all day just once cut off will not fire up.
Is there anything that keep fuel pressurized to injector so when started kicks in will start ?

Thx

When you turn your ignition on, the fuel pump should get energized for a few seconds. Do you hear this happening? Once the engine starts, the ECU gets a signal from the distributor that the engine is running and turns the fuel pump on.

Concerning fuel pump / I will check first thing
tomorrow was told that it must be working correctly because once started runs perfect
