i have a 2009 volvo penta 4.3L. Today was the first day that I had it out. got it in the water and we were going along and when i got out of the no wake zone and accelerated, it killed. I jiggled around the battery connections and got it started and exactly the same thing happened, but this time i could not get it started again. it's like it will turnover but not fire.

its an old battery so I bought a new one and went back to the lake to try again...and same thing. anybody know what might cause this?

thank you in advance for any responses.

What is the full model number or the serial number of your engine?

Re: engine will not fire

Your full model number is 4.3GL-J That J is really necessary and is part of the FULL model number.
Also, when I went to the Volvo site and used your engine serial number, I got this message.

Your Volvo Penta product is subject of a recall campaign. At your earliest convenience, please contact your Volvo Penta dealer to schedule an appointment for this important service. State your engine serial number as a reference. Consult your Volvo Penta dealer before operating your Volvo Penta product again.

Not sure what it's about, but it might be part of your problem.

Go to this site http://www.volvopenta.com/volvopent...lication_search/pages/publication_search.aspx and type i your SN. You can see for yourself.
