I have a 27FT Bayliner Explorer that is underpowered by a week AQ125 270 Outdrive. I saw these on ebay

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=50441&item=2445198488

and was wanding if this was a good deal if I could get a good engine and outdrive out of this deal, and I would have spares. Any pro and cons of the Volvo AQAD31 Diesel. How load are these suckers? How much are they new?

I've seen boats that big with one 140 Merc.

Forget it. The cost of installing and converting to diesel is way way more than your boat is worth.

Dont overpower that explorer, 125 hp is what that hull was designed for. People have put v8s in them with serious and dangerous handling issues, especially in a following sea.

Ginius
At the risk of being crude, STOP POSTING until you obtain the requisite skills. The rest of us took the time to develop those skills. I've observed a couple of your responses and they are NOT VALUE ADDED. You're interfering with the good advice offered by others. Your response in the automotive vs marine thread was irresponsible and dangerous. Please read, but dont post until you can get your act together.
One man's opinion
Good Vibes

Yes 125-150 hp in a 26 foot Bayliner Explorer. This was the maximum HP available. I had a Bayliner Explorer 20 and now I know why. Thing did about 25 and it was at the top of its hull speed.
