I've been making good progress on re-laying the glass on the stringers of my Capri. I've been using 18 oz fabric with epoxy. The original stringer encapsulation was 3/16''-1/4''.
Finished on the mounts
I followed the guidelines in the West System manual on how far the bottom layer should extend out from the base of the stringer and with each layer having an inch (total) less width than the previous layer. The fabric shown here is what I cut out for the stringers from the cabin doors-forward, roughly.
Hard to see the layers, I know, but here's this pic anyway.
A while back I posted when figuring out how much fabric I was going to need and I was told that 3 layers should be good. The stringers themselves are well epoxy-ed and filleted into their grooves, if that helps.
Am I good or do I need to add some more?
