Enrichener Valve Mounting 87 Merc. 115 ?

Can anyone tell me where the enrichener valve is supposed to be mounted. I looked on an engine that was a year older than mine and it had a threaded boss on the case that it bolts too. My engine doesnt have that threaded boss. There is a band with a hole in it wrapped around the valve but for the life of me I cannot figure out where it bolts too. Pics would be great ! lol

After digging through all my mercury manuals it's clear why you have no anwsers there are no pictures so I will try to describe it, the enrichener valve is fastened to the port side of crankcase with a strap that goes on a crankcase bolt, it's positioned behind the throttle lever with the intake hose just below the output fittlng on the carb and the outlet fitting just above the tee fitting on the balance hose. Hope this helps.

As stated, there should be a threaded opening in the intake to the port side of the middle carb. If you dont have it, it could be that the intake or powerhead is from an older motor before they had the enricher system. The older ones didnt have this fitting.

The system is supplied fuel from the top not the middle carb.

I understand that. He was asking where the valve mounts which is right in between the 1st and 2nd carb to the intake Just above the fuel pump. The pre-enricher valve motors do not have these mounting bosses though.

Heres a couple pics of my own. I am also trying to figure out the year of it. The tag is gone and I cannot find a welch plug with a sn any other ideas ?

The intake if not the complete powerhead is an older one. Very early '80's is my guess. Although the stickers and trim/tilt suggest that the motor is mid to late '80's.

I have an '86 Mercury 115 I6 that threw a rod and punched a hole in my intake cover amongst other things. I put a good powerhead from an '81 on there and it didnt have the mounting provisions for the enricher valve either since the carbs on those motors had an actual choke. I ended up mounting mine to the front support just to the starboard side of the top carb and it works fine in that position.
