I've seen these 4 wheel dolly bases that to mount heavy equipment (table saws, band saws, etc.) that you push down on a pedal to lift the equipment up so the wheels will roll, then press the pedal again when you have moved the equipment and the machinery drops or the wheels retract and the equipment if firmly on the floor. Anyone know what these dollies are called? Where can you get them?
Thanks

Call and ask for a piano dolly, and then go on from there.

If you just need to rent, most tool rental places, or some truck rental places have them. If you want to buy, I'd start with Grainger or Northern Tool

Thanks ndemge. I'm looking to buy or make one to move a meat saw. About 250 lbs. Oh yeah, I'm looking to do this as cheap as possible. Thanks.

I've seen equipment that has 2 casters mounted on 2 legs of the device near but not touching the floor. To move the gismo, it was tilted so that the casters were now touching the floor and the upper part was used as the handle. Sort of like a hand-truck.

Re: Equipment moving dollies

I bought one for my table saw at Home Depot. It was about $80 CDN. It has two fixed wheel on the back and two on levers in the front. I flip the levers out and the whole thing rolles on wheels. Flip them in, and it settles down on rubber feet. Pretty stable and handy. I forget the name of the manufacturer though. It had orange and black printing on the box. It wasn't B&D. I found it in the tool section.

levittownnick has it right. That's what I'm looking for.The HD by me doesn't have them nor Lowes. Anyone know what they're called?
If I remember, Norm Ambram on The New Yankee Workshop made something similar to this. Anyone remember it and have specifics? All help is greatly appreciated.
