Good day friends!
I got a real nice little center console, its 16.5' length and 7' wide, weighs 1040 pounds and with 3 adults does 31mph with no gear and a 50hp Yamaha 4stroke. I like how the 4strokes burn less gas, but I hate how they are heavier and have less torque than the 2strokes... Also don't like how it takes long to get on plane, so I'm gonna repower and I think I'm gonna go with an Etec... The boat is rated for 113hp (weird) so I am considering a 90hp or 115hp etec and would like to know what the difference is (other than 25hp) between these two motors?? Which one would you recommend and why?? Positives vs negatives?? Also what is the difference between the regular one and the H.O.??
The boat is mainly used for fishing/cruising, no tubing or anything like that.... I'm not looking to FLY but speed is important as I fish the great lakes and they can get pretty nasty in just seconds... Things I'm looking for are Lightweight, reliability, good fuel economy and lots of power/speed. I'm hoping to get somewhere around 45mph WOT propped and trimmed, is this asking for too much from these motors?
Any help would be appreciated, thanks!!!
Nick
