Hi all,

Are the evinrude/bombadier e'tech's available in the US yet and if so does anyone have any critiques of them. They won't be available over here in Australia until October. I also hear Bombadier are in the process of attempting to sell off the outboard business. Anyone got any thoughts about the repercussions if this was to go ahead.
Thanks
Phil

Re: E'tec motors ??

One paper said August, latest at am-tech said October 2004. I am only guessing, but all may not be well with the motor, I have looked all over for new 70 3 cylinder 2 stroke Johnson/Evinrude no one has them. If the engines are ready looks like they would be on the market.

I personally would not buy any of the "revolutionary technology" until it has been on the market and has a track record. The early adopters of VRO, Ficht, etc. were burned in many cases.

Re: E'tec motors ??

Thanks all, Sorry I missed the April post and could'nt find the right key word in the forum search. So it seems the motors are STILL not available over there...Interesting...Surely that is a delayed release there is no way they would be released in the US and Australia simultaneously, well I would'nt think so. I await developments.
thanks again
Phil'
