many years ago i worked for a company that manufactured ethanol and methanol products, At the time i was also involved in offshore racing ,
I had access to various fuel types ,the best mixes I found without rejiging carbs or timing was to mix petrol ethanol at 60/40 ratio,s ,The oil was changed to castrol R ,which is a vegetable oil this mix produced about 35/40% increase in performance top end and acceleration the prob was the mix had to be in the tank and not the oil injection! the biggest problem with any alchohol fuel is that it wicks moisture from the air ,which dilutes the alchohol and curdles the oil and petrol causing a high level of resin deposit in filters and carbs.
The easy answer is to disconnect the fuel lines after use run the system empty
Then to lock fuel tank airtight
Because of the high calorific value of alchohol it causes a cooling effect as it enters the compression chamber, this allows a higher fuel charge per detonation ,thus more power per stroke ,but be warned in the wrong hands this can be very expensive
