Evinrude 10hp Sportwin lower unit question

I just ordered a repair manual for a 10024, but have a quick question. I have this black oil like stuff coming out of the 2 areas show with the arrows. The tiny hole and the other thing that looks like it has some kind of screen on the side Is this normal? thanks

very normal. The exhaust and water come out of there together. Since two stroke motors don't burn all the oil and gas some of that comes out with that as well.
