i replaced the impeller waterpump and thermos, just put the muffs on and it peeing just fine the water was net even warm but the heads were hot could only hold my finger there for about 3to4 secs .i can also run all day with no alarm going off untill i go wot.deflectors??????

The deflectors are just about the only thing left..... when you change them you will need new head gaskets too. I did it all on my V-4 and have zero issues :)

I can hold my hand on the cylinder head for a count of 3 maybe 4, and it is not overheating. Invest in one of those cheap infra-red thermomiters and check the actual temp. You may not have a problem at all, just not very tough hands.

When you replaced the thermostats, did you check the valve body inside the thermostat housing? It has (depending on year) two pinholes or a single oval hole. These holes pass a small amount of water to the back of the stats to tell them when to open. If this/these hole(s) are plugged up (a common problem,) you can get still get an overheat.

You could take off one of the head covers (not the head) and have a look inside at the condition of the cooling passages inside the head. Look for any water flow restrictions. What you see inside these heads may be the same as what is inside the rest of the block.
