Hi there, have a 1975 Evinrude 115 that ran great all last summer. Last trip out last october, the bendix on the starter went. Got a brand new starter, installed it this
morning and when I tried to start it, I could not get the motor to turn over fast enough.
Also have a new battery in the boat. Checked all the wiring to see if there was cut in any of them as to make a short. All good.
When the motor does turn over, it is a hard turn
Any advice as to where to start looking.

Thanks

Make sure ALL connections are taken off and made shiney and bright and tight. Sounds like a bad connection some where; both battery cable ends for sure.

Hey there, checked all the connections, cleaned them, jumped the starter directly, thats fine. I guess I will change the solenoid as everthing on the motor is original
