I just finished fixing my boat after some fuel delivery problems and now I noticed my RPM gauge/system check doesn't work. When I turn the key to the on position, there's no beep and none of the warning lights come on. I didn't touch anything electrical while doing the fuel system repairs. The engine starts fine but the RPM gauge also doesn't move at all. I tested the connector to the gauge and I'm getting 12+ volts when testing the purple/black wires on the connector. Is it possible my gauge just took a crap suddenly?

Does the self check of the warning lights work?

Second test: You can ground one of the temp sensors on the cylinder head and see if you get an overheat warning. If not, make sure the overheat wire on the 8pin DIP plug on the gauge is indeed grounded. If so, the wiring is likely good and the gauge is bad.

None of the system check lights work, nothing comes on at all, I even took the gauge out and used a power probe to send power to the red wire to see if it would do anything. Guess I'm looking at $250 for a new gauge -.-
