Evinrude 140 mystery

I have an evinrude 140<br />Model: 100993 S<br />Ser: J0001237<br /><br />The starter went out. Anybody know what year this motor is?<br /><br />and suggestions as to where I can get a new or rebuilt starter?<br /><br />appreciate it... all those fish and so little power!<br /><br />charlie

I can't answer your question on the year but I would look into rebuilding what you have first if possible. It could just need a new set of brushes.

thanks.. I had it rebuilt... the brushes were shot.. now the armature has broken wires and won't work.<br /><br />cc
