evinrude 15 horse

im getting a 75 evinrude 15 horse for a 70's 14' foot fiberglass closed bow boat. i was wondering if 15 HP whould be to much for it since it weighs alot lighter than my old alum boat and with a 20 on that it whould hop in and out of the water.

I can't imagine a 15 horse being too much for a 14' fiberglass boat. Does it have a rating on it? Give it a try and see how it goes....

Try the motor on the boat before you buy it, if you can. I can't imagine a 15HP would be sufficient for a 1970's 14' closed bow fiberglass boat.<br /><br />The fiberglass boat is a lot lighter than what aluminun boat? Just curious.
