Evinrude 1975 135hp Water Pump Stream

I have an Evinrude 1975 135hp. It has replaced an Evinrude 1974 115hp.<br /><br />On the 115hp there was a water stream hose that was installed and connected to the exhaust outer cover in the lower right corner. This stream was an indicator that the impeller was working. (I stilled changed it every two years)<br /><br />I want to install the same water stream hose on the 135hp. However the exhaust outer cover looks completely different. It looks like a beer belly.<br /><br />Where do I install this connector and hose on this 135hp motor?<br /><br />If there are instructions and pictures on the net please provide the web address.<br /><br />Thank you,<br />Kemper Martin<br />kmartin@kcinternational.net

Welcome!!<br /><br />It still goes in basically the same place. It would be even better and easier to tap into the water jacket above the #1 cylinder in the block -- NOT the head -- and run the hose from there. That will give you your indicator and vent the block.<br /><br />Do a search for block venting. Theres lots of info. It very simple and will help the motor. Especially if its being lugged at less than 5500 wot.

i have the same outboard on my boat. my outboard dose not have water stream hose if you look at your outboard from the back side below the power head case on the mid section you will see to holes. when you start your autboard water will spit out threw those holes that is how you can tell if your water pump is working. when you get motor into water you will see lots of water coming out those 2 holes hope this will help.

i have a question for you could you please let me know that part no on the back of your fuel pump mine went out and boat shop told me that the one on motor was no the right one so i would like to see if our outboards have the same fuel pump because i have a 1975 135 hp outboard to. my outboard model is a 135583E yours should be the same thanks erik.
