Hi all you great people out there in the boating world. I am new to outboard repair.<br />I have a problem with my standard shaft electric srt 25hp evinrude. It got grounded the other week while under power. Since then it runs for a short while in forward gear then dies,or it then sometime revs away and then dies. I have take the gear case down and reversed the clutch dog. but still the same.The motor starts first time every time. It also restarts no probs once it's died.But i have had it run up in a tank wityh no prop on and it seems to run no problem.Is it clutch dog and or gears??? and if so where do i get 1978 set from cheap??<br />regs jts4u
