Can anyone out there please advise me of any special procedures that need to be carried out prior to leaving my engine (and boat) in the garage at my beach house at Queensland (Australia) for 6 months or so until it's next use.

I had heard that corrosion in the cylinders can build up due to condensation and not only damage the cylinder walls and pistons, but also seize the motor entirely.

What needs to be done to avoid this occurring.

First I assume you are using it in Salt water so flush it with fresh water change the lower unit oil use a fogging agent spray it into the cylinders and hand crank it. But a fuel stabilizer in and dissconnect the gas let it run dry thats it buddy

I always like to disconnect the battery. For storage I would disconnect and remove. I install battery swithes in all my boats. When I am done with it for the day turn off the juice. I believe this helps reduce corrosion in a big way. I also believe that it cuts way down on dead battery problems.
