Looking to buy an emergency replacement prop to stow on my boat. The manual states the prop now is a 11 3/4 x 17, Overton's lists replacements as 13 x 11 up to 12 1/4 x 15. How much leeway do I have here, and what is the difference in performance?

Thanks, God bless, Mike.

Thank you T-Daddy, this board is awesome!! found the exact replacement prop at about 1/2 the Overton's price, and the exchange program sounds great!!

Re: Evinrude 1989 E50TLCEC

What is your current WOT RPM?

The goal in prop selection is to determine what propeller style and size will maximize performance for your boat, while allowing your engine to operate in the recommended RPM range. For every 1" of pitch size, the effect will be approximately 200 RPM. Increasing the pitch increment by 1" will result in approximately a 200 RPM drop, decreasing 1" 200 rpm gain. It is imperative, however, that the WOT RPM fall within the range specified in your manual.

Re: Evinrude 1989 E50TLCEC

Thanks for the explanation Chris, I was able to determine that the optimal speed to weight for my boat is best suited to the 113/4x17 that is currently on the motor, so I will buy the same for a stow prop. Again, you guys are the best!

God bless, Mike.
