DO NOT order a new motor, yours can be rebuilt for much less.

Remove it and bring it to a local starter/alternator repair shop, it will be in the range of 10 to 100 bucks, depending on the overall damage. Is much cheaper than the $185 you will pay for new. Make sure all connections are clean and tight on reinstallation.

As long as you didn't hit it with a hammer too often or too hard!!

Thanks guys for your quick reapply, trim motor housing is all rotten out, I will check after removal to see if it can be repair. As for the Part numbers all the three parts number will work or is a guest on one of the three part numbers.

Thank you

I can?t get to the rear screws on the trim motor. Motor needs to come down. I don?t have and engine hoist, I will have to buy one but I just look over my Service manual, and I see that removing the trim system from the motor looks really simple. If I trim the motor all the way up and remove the tilt cylinder pin I will get access to the rear screws on the trim motor. How hard is to remove that tilt cylinder pin?

Thank you

You do not need a hoist. If you cannot slide the TNT unit out, simply remove the port stern bracket, slide it to the left, but keep it on the transom, disconnect the steering, use a solid block of wood in between the leg and the stern brackets to hold it up, then you will be able to slide the TNT unit out.

If you are able to tilt the unit down to access the rear motor screws, that of course will be much easier. Those tilt pins can be a real bugger, just to let you know. They never seem to be easy!
