Hi Guys,

I have a 91 evinrude 225. Apparantly I have an old OMC tacho. It used to work, but hasn't done very much lately. It will 'twitch' when you turn the key on, but that's it.

I bought a manual, but there is nothing on the tacho (figures)...

Can somebody give me an idea about how this thing works? I have a good multimeter, a soldering iron and a basic understanding of electronics, so if you can let me know what is supposed to connect to where, I'll have a go.

Cheers,

Tim

pulses from the voltage regulator/rectifier are counted and displayed in analog form. Four wires to the gauge. 12V that is on when the key is on. Ground, light, and sense (the line from the regulator).
