Evinrude 2000 model 225 want start.

2000 model 225 rude stop run after a 2 hr run in rough seas check fuel system seems to be fine this boat has twin motors and the port engine runs fine so i dont think it fuel related but i changed out the filters anyway. Turns over just want start, at frist it would hit each time you tried to start then stop hitting all togeather after several trys. I just got this boat it was my 3 trip so I'm new to the outboard thing. Does any have any ideals what could cause this or should i just take it to the shop.

Since you just got it,can you take back to them?
That would be the best action.

Also if it has not run since it quit after 2 hrs rough seas,yes,I suggest a Shop.

That would be the best action.

It did not come from a dealer i picked it up in NC in july this year so i'm on my own with getting it fixed. just thought some master at engines could steer me in the right dir. I guess i can check and see if i have spark at the plug then go from there.

Check the control wiring harness, where it connects to the engine harness. The connector with a black/yellow wire. look for a burnt track inside the connector.

If you don't have one, get an OEM shop manual.
