Evinrude 25 hp Outboard, with motorbike charging system?

I just came across a interesting video on youtube guy says he put a china motorbike 12 volt charging system on his 25 hp pull start evinrude. just type in Evinrude 25 hp-test on youtube. Anyone ever heard/done this?

He said he put a Chinese rectifier on it. That isn't a complete charging system. He did not say where he is getting the electricity for the rectifier. Perhaps he has the lighting coil kit?? Or is he robbing power from the ignition system?? At any rate, it looks like a puny output to me, less than 6v and a dim bulb. Nowhere near enough to charge a battery.

Yea' For me The electrical side of outboard tinkering is my true weak spot, But from the bits I do know I think there needs to be something under/near/close to the flywheel to be charged by the rotating magnets. However as fast as China is cranking out things I thought maybe a magic thing-y is out there, This caught my eye because I often have folks ask me if they can get some kind of charging out of their older pull start non-charging outboards, The only way I am aware of is to swap/add all the under flywheel components & other stuff, This guys appears to be a pull start. But I did notice a battery in the video?
