Re: Evinrude 25853c extenshion kit needed.
In theory the kit is available from dealers although not direct from shop.Evinrude.com as part number 389111.
The price is not given but the gearcase extension on its own is $209, a standard drive shaft is $298 so I guess the longer one will be more. The shift rod is nearly $73 the water tube $23 an extra long gearcase to exhaust housing stud is $32. On goes the list with a number of minor parts ranging from below $2 to over $10.
I reckon all the parts could come to around $700. It may be more sensible to look out for an engine with a longshaft.
