I have a 1966 Evinrude folding motor , with a built in tank , have been told that there was a similar model (3 hp folder)that had an external tank ,could any member shed any light on the subject or guide Me to the information?
Thanks
They made a fuel pump kit for that engine. If you look at the right side of the engine block, you will see three holes. The center hole has a flat head screw, with a fiber washer, that's where the fuel pump goes. There is a recess on the right front of the engine for the fuel connector.
I don't recal the 'folding 'motors as using an external tank, but the non-folding ones did. They used the same powerhead.

Also OMC had 'suitcases' for the folding motors.and the whole thing could go in your trunk.

DHP

I had a 70 evenrude folding motor that used an external tank. The motor had a fiberglass hood similar to the 66 johnson 3 hp eng I had. How many years were the folding motors made and are parts available
You should have started your own thread. The mods here frown on that. If you look in the "Top Secret Files" in theForum here, you'll see a list of salvage yards. This is a good place to start.
