Evinrude 40 HP

I have an Evinrude 40 hp that was givin to me by my father-in-law. The model # is 40052-A and the serial # is E01450. What can you tell me about this motor and where is the best place to get parts for it and possibly a manuel and specifications/scematics<br /><br />Thank you,<br />Paul- Houston,Texas

1970 great 2 cylinder, kencook.com has manual, brp evinrude has total diagram of every part and part #. if this motor has no t been run recently. use the red "search" function at the top of this page, search for " awakening a sleeping motor" it wiil get you off to the right start. welcocme to the University of boating, as i call it. post any time.

Iboats sells lots of parts for that engine, and you can get a lot more through your local dealer.<br /><br />As for the manual, do yourself a favor and get the factory one. There's one on ebay for $30. Use these search terms:<br />(40, 40hp) (evinrude, johnson) manual 1970<br />Don't bother with that other one. Also, you can get a fresh reprint from kencook.com, maxrules.com, theoutboardwizard.bizhosting.com, marineengine.com and a few others. <br /><br />EDIT: Ah, tashasdaddy gave you most of that info too. :) <br /><br /><br />Don't bother with the parts manual either.
