First you need a ser. manual before you repair your motor.Try the library,the tab at the top of the page,Amazon.com,NAPA,Barnes and Noble etc.<br /> your motor requires the powerhead removal in order to unhook the shift.Also and more important<br />there is a pin in the driveshaft that needs to be rotated to line up with a slot in the upper exhaust housing before the lower unit can be removed.Or damage will occur.(see how important a manual can be)I got the info out of the Seloc 1956 to 1970 manual.I got the manual just in case I needed to repair my motor.<br />Good luck.
