Evinrude 50 rundown help

Hey All,

I just acquired a 97 Sunbird 150 in good condition with an Evinrude 50 spl. It’s Model year 96, so it’s original to the hull.

I was wondering if someone could give me a brief rundown of engine operation. It has a choke/fuel solenoid i am not familiar with. What is the correct procedure to start the boat and warmup / etc ???

Mix gas and oil at 50:1 on it.-----Operate bulb on hose till firm.----Raise fast idle lever.----Push key in and hold it in while cranking the motor over.-----Push key in as needed till motor warms a bit.----Do not let motor rev wildly in neutral.----Install a new water pump impeller and test the overheat horn.
