evinrude 50 winds but goes nowhere

a friend of mine called has a 50 horse evinrude i think 86 puts it in gear from what i he saw prop wasspinning but when gunned goes nowhere.i said maybe prop spline not sure thought i would try and get some feedback being this forum was so helpful on my other problem thanx Robbie

Spun hub most likely. A prop shop can fix that.

In idle, the prop probably will spin because of the very low load. But when throttles open, load goes way way up. <br /><br />Something is slipping, probably the prop splines.<br /><br />Take the prop off and have a look.
