Hello,

My first post on this forum.
We have bought an Evinrude 6hp Fischerman but don't know the year of built.
I have found a number on the motor: 62020 - B28263.
He don't start and we will buy a user manual, because I think the spark plugs, are not the correct ones.
We have cleaned carburator so the engine gets fuel but he doesn't start. When we screw out the sparks and pull at the start rope, we can see the sparks give a spark :)

Thanks
Wouter

It is a 1972. Spark plugs are Champion J4J (J4C now) or AC M42K

Thanks for your reply.

The spark plugs that we have now are from NGK and are B6S.
I've already found a site (http://www.boatsetup.com/Spark Plug Chart 2007 BRP.pdf) with the spark plugs needed for a 6hp evinrude. There they say J6C
When I look to this site http://www.spark-plugs.co.uk/pages/technical/champion860-n288.htm an NGK B6S is the same as J6C. So I believe that won't be the problem.
I have already another question: Is it possible that the canal between carburator and cylinder head is blocked so the spark plugs don't get enough fuel ? If so, how can we clean this ?
Thanks and regards,
Wouter
