Evinrude 60 Stator compatibility

'lo everyone. I have an E60TLESM with a dead stator (partnumber 583779, fits 1989-1995). As a replacement part I have access to a cheap stator from an E60 year model 1988. Both 3cyl. The replacement has different part number (583724, fits 1979-1990) and the profile is a bit different but amp values are the same, 9 amps. Is it safe to use the 583724 on my E60TLESM?

They are not the same. I.believe the 78-88 stator is a 5 amp

Ah ok, thank you very much. Will have to look for another one then, with a matching part# of course.
