Evinrude 6HP from 1965

Hy all again,<br /><br />this time i having some qusetions about a Evinrude 6HP from 1965. Does this machin come with a thermostat? because when i opend this one there was none inside.<br /><br />thanks in advance.

Yes, there's supposed to be a thermostat in there.<br />Any J/E dealer can get you one and it should be fairly inexpensive. That particulair one was used on a lot of outboards.

thanks for the fast reply man, then i have another question about it. if this is gone, would the engine stall after about 10 minutes?

no, it wont stall after 10 minutes.<br /><br /><br />if your fuel pump is bad, then your carb will run of just whatever gas is left in the bowl that was pumped in via the primer bulb.<br /><br />to test it, disconnect the hose that attaches to the carb wich feeds the carb with fuel, then crank the motor over a few times, you should have some fuel spit out at you each time. if not, then its time to get a new pump or maybe rebuild the one you have with a new diaphram kit<br /><br />mike<br /><br />peace
