Evinrude 70 hp

Hi Gents<br /><br />Recently i purchased a boat with the above motor,the motor runs fine but when i accelerate it seems to take a while for the revs to go up then next thing you know its revving to high,do i need throttle adjusted or could it be something else any information will be really appreciated.<br /><br />Eddy

Hi EddyC,<br /><br />Can you give us some more information about the engine? Year etc...<br /><br />I would go check the carburators and jets and clean it all up, it doesn't hurt the engine anyway. Just for a start...<br /><br />/Tommy

Thanks for the response Tommy,the motor is a 1980 model i think, also i was told it was tuned just before i bought it,it idles excellent and does not miss a beat while idling or at open throttle.<br /><br />Regards<br /><br />Eddy
