Hi - hope someone can help me. I have an Evinrude 70HP VRO and it won't start and the fuel pump leaks, it looks like from the mixing chamber. I have read a couple of messages about disabling the VRO unit (which I assume is the fuel pump), is this wise? The second problem is that I am not getting a spark at any of the plugs. The engine is probably an 86 ish model and I am fairly new to outboard maintennance. HELP please. I am alos working on a project rebuilding my boat which is a Planomatic Sceptre 15, I think so any advice would be great. Sorry about being so vague. I bought the boat for £350 a few years ago with a Johnson 40 which had low compression so didn't run very well so I replaced it and decide to do the boat up.
