Evinrude 70hp

Hi Guys<br /><br />I have located a plate on the transom bracket of my 70hp evinrude outboard.This contains 2 numbers which are (70979R) & the other is (353109) are these the serial and model numbers for the outboard?<br />

Ed..... The number of (70979R) would be the model number BUT I think you made a typo on the last number (9) which should be a (3).<br /><br />Model number 70973 is a 1979 70hp Evinrude.

Joe is correct, of course, on the year. Just to confirm, they do list a 70973-70979 model number as a 70HP 1979 Model.
