Evinrude '79 115 and a Johnson '89 140 Compatible????

I have a ’79 Evinrude 115hp, runs good. My neighbor has a ‘89 Johnson 140hp, he just blew the motor but the trim, lower unit, carbs are in excellent condition. Dose anyone know in the parts are interchangeable?

As long as they are both the same shaft length (long or extra long) the lower units will interchange. You will have to use the cross flow shift shaft. The trim will interchange but nothing is the same as far as the powerhead goes between the cross flow and the looper. <br /><br />Good luck!
