I replaced the powerhead on my Evinrude 88 HP SPL with a remanufactured unit. The engine had 1800 hours on it since the pistons were replaced with .030 over pistons. The compression was down to 90 psi and had low speed issues. The cylinders were just worn out.
I now have a squeaking noise when cranking over before it starts and a ticking noise that can be heard up to 1500 rpms. It may be there above 1500 but normal engine noise may cover it. The engine starts and runs very good. I ran it for 3 hours per the break in instructions and the noise did not get any different. I ran it with plug wires disconnected one at time to see if the noise is coming from a particular cylinder and the noise did not change. Video link is below because the file is too large to be uploaded here.

Is this normal noise that an engine with good compression makes ? Thanks
